Covid in Italy: 49.040 cases, 252 deaths and positivity rate at 10,2%

The epidemic curve continues to decline in Italy. There are 49.040 new cases compared to 60.029 yesterday and 59.749 a week ago.

I swabs processed are 479.447 (yesterday 603.639) with a positivity rate that rises to 10,2% (+0,3% compared to yesterday). The deaths are 252 (yesterday 322): the total victims since the beginning of the pandemic I'm 153.764.

Intensive care units are still decreasing, 10 less (yesterday -32) with 81 admissions today and a total of 886, and the ordinary hospitalizations, 549 fewer (yesterday -299), 12.527 in total. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health.

The region with the highest number of cases today is the Lazio with 5.639 infections, followed by Lombardia (+ 5.534), Sicilia (+ 5.272), Veneto (+ 4.593), Campania (+4.394) and Puglia (+ 3.834).

Total cases reach 12.603.758. The discharged/recovered in the last 24 hours are 119.280 (yesterday 89.993) for a total that rises to 11.228.571. For this reason, the currently positive are still decreasing, 70.370 less (yesterday -30.178), and fall to 1.221.423. Of these 1.208.010 patients are in home isolation.
