Naples, nightlife scrutinized by law enforcement: fines and seizures.
Yesterday, as part of the services arranged by the Naples Police Headquarters in the “movida” areas, the officers of the Police Stations Decumani and Montecalvario, the financial police of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza, personnel of the Metropolitan Police and of the autonomous service of the Local Police of the Municipality of Naples carried out checks in the historic center and in the Spanish Quarters.
In the historic center, in particular in piazza del Gesù Nuovo, via San Sebastiano, piazza Bellini, via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, via Mezzocannone, piazza San Gaetano, piazzetta Nilo, and largo San Giovanni Maggiore in Pignatelli, 4 vehicles were removed for illegal parking, 98 people were identified and 11 commercial establishments were checked, one of which was fined in via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli since an employee was found to be without the “reinforced green pass” although over fifty years old; the owner was also fined for failure to verify the green pass.
Again, the agents of the Montecalvario police station In the Spanish Quarters they identified 62 people and checked 7 premises, fining one in Via Speranzella for violation of the noise impact clearance. Furthermore, they reported a man for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing because he was found in possession of 14 packages containing cocaine and MDMA, while, in Two Doors Alley in Toledo, reported a minor for carrying weapons or objects capable of causing harm because he was found in possession of a pocket knife and a person for illegally carrying a cutting weapon because he was found in possession of a butterfly knife.
The operators also removed 8 cars because they were parked on the pavements and on the public road and contested 32 violations of the Highway Code for parking prohibitions; they were also fined for possession of narcotic substance for personal use three people found in possession of hashish and marijuana.
