Caserta, fake car theft scam discovered: two people reported
He had parked the car and, when he returned, he had not found it: it had disappeared into thin air, stolen by who knows who. At least, this was what a man from the province of Caserta had told the police, who had shown up to file a theft report for his car. But the police discovered that the story was actually quite different: the car had been made to disappear on purpose with the help of an accomplice, with the intention of pocketing the insurance money.
Investigations closed and a complaint was filed: the two, a 35-year-old from Teverola and a 37-year-old from Carinaro, will have to answer for simulating a crime. The measure was triggered as part of the nightlife control plans prepared by the Carabinieri of the Aversa Company between the territories of Aversa, San Marcellino, Teverola and Casaluce and which led to a total of 5 complaints. In particular, during the operations the military intercepted a 46-year-old from Aversa, who was driving without a license, with a repeat offense in the two-year period; also reported were a 35-year-old from Casaluce and a 45-year-old from Parete, both already under house arrest, who were surprised outside their respective homes during patrols.
Finally, a complaint was also filed against a 53-year-old from Aversa, owner of a car wash, who had connected the systems with an illegal connection to the public grid: the man is accused of electricity theft. During the operations, 959 people and 712 vehicles were checked and 184 traffic fines were issued for various violations, including lack of insurance coverage, lack of inspection, driving without a helmet and without a seat belt.
