Naples. Yesterday morning a patrol of the Hawks of the Decumani Police Station while passing through Piazza Nicola Amore noticed a man who was following a couple of tourists until, having reached Piazza Guglielmo Pepe, after having approached one of them from behind, he put his hand in his backpack taking possession of a purse and a cell phone; the man also immediately gave the cell phone to an accomplice who quickly walked away and disappeared without a trace.
The police officers, with the support of a patrol car from the same police station, reached and stopped, not without difficulty, the criminal, finding him in possession of the purse containing several documents.
The man, a 30-year-old Algerian with a police record and an illegal immigrant on the national territory, was arrested for improper robbery, while the stolen goods were returned to the victim.
Again, during the intervention phases, the operators were approached by a person who said that, a few days before, she had had her cell phone stolen and that she had located it through an application in a building on Via Antonio Toscano.
The officers, therefore, reached the building and, once inside, they surprised a man coming out of a house with the reported phone in his hand; furthermore, they carried out a check in the apartment where they found another 33 cell phones and a smartwatch whose origin the man was unable to justify.
A 27-year-old Ivorian was reported for receiving stolen goods, while the cell phone was returned to its rightful owner.
