Fear last night in Portici due to the explosion of the device: damage but no injuries
A firecracker was detonated this morning shortly before 1am in front of a bar in Portici, on the corner of Via Roma and Via Diaz.
The explosion did not cause any injuries but damaged the shutter, a display case and a refrigerator inside the premises. Agents from the Portici – Ercolano Police Station were on site.
The roar was clearly felt by many citizens who commented on the incident on social media already in the early morning. The owner of the bar interviewed by the police after brief information said he had never received threats or extortion requests and could not explain the reasons for the attacks.
Among the tracks being explored is that of racketeering: with the approach of the Christmas holidays, the demands for protection money are increasing. The police have also acquired images from public and private video surveillance cameras in the area.
