Naples, Borrelli: “There is already a library named after Benedetto Croce in Vomero but it has been abandoned”. For the Green Party deputy, it is a heritage to be recovered.
The Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano expressed a favorable opinion on the proposal to name the National Library of Naples after Benedetto Croce, put forward by the January 9 Committee.
However, everyone forgets that in Naples there is already a library named after the philosopher and it is located in Vomero, in via Francesco de Mura, but it has been closed for two years.
"The structure, closed for two years, had cost a good 400 thousand euros and is now completely abandoned. Already during the covid emergency we launched an appeal to denounce the conditions of degradation and abandonment in which the library finds itself with the serious risk that the books are irreparably damaged. This is a cultural heritage that absolutely must be recovered too."– declared the deputy of the Green-Sinister alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the municipal councilors of Green Europe Rino Nasti and Luca Bonetti.
