It is the recital “From Naples to New Orleans” by the duo Zamuner&Zamuner.
The “Spring Concerts” series, which began with the exclusive concert by South Korean pianist Jae Hong Park, continues to the rhythm of jazz with the show “From Naples to New Orleans” scheduled for Saturday 18 March 2023 (19.30:XNUMX pm) at the Museo Campano in Capua.
Some of the great jazz hits by Duke Ellington, Astor Piazzolla and Richard Rodgers, among others, will be compared with timeless pieces of classical Neapolitan song such as “Io te vurrìa vasa'” (by Eduardo Di Capua and Vincenzo Russo) and “Era de Maggio” (by Salvatore Di Giacomo and Pasquale Costa).
The duo “Zamuner&Zamuner”, composed of Emilia Zamuner on vocals and Paolo Zamuner on piano, will be trying their hand at this interesting musical parallelism. The concert, part of the “Jazz Recital” cycle, is the second event of the “Spring Concerts” series.
Emilia Zamuner studied jazz singing at the Conservatory of Naples, graduating cum laude in jazz singing and composition. She has performed at prestigious festivals, including Umbria Jazz, Lucca jazz donna. She has collaborated, among others, with Karima, Pietro Condorelli, Marco de Tilla, Andrea Rea, Sandro Deidda, Aldo Vigorito, Giuseppe La Pusata, Massimo del Pezzo, Mariano Rigillo, Sebastiano Somma. She is currently a jazz singing teacher at the “Giuseppe Martucci” Conservatory of Salerno and the creator and artistic director of the Pignatelli in Jazz festival and collaborates with saxophonist Daniele Sepe in numerous projects. In 2017 she won a scholarship to participate in the International Congress of voice teachers in Stockholm, and was a finalist at the Ella Fitzgerald Competition in Washington, obtaining second prize.
Paolo Zamuner, after studying with the American pianist and jazz musician Carmel Rossini, attended jazz piano courses with Mario Nappi and improvisation with Pietro Condorelli at the Conservatory of Naples, graduating cum laude with a three-year degree. He subsequently specialized at the Conservatory of Salerno, graduating in jazz piano with top marks and honors. He performs in a duo with Emilia Zamuner, in a trio with the musicians Aldo Capasso and Marco Gagliano, with whom he is developing new sounds and ideas to apply to jazz, inserting pieces that do not strictly belong to the jazz tradition, with contaminations also coming from the classical repertoire. He has participated in various festivals and theatrical productions with Silvia Siravo and Mariano Rigillo.
The event is supported by the MiC – Directorate General of Entertainment and the Campania Region and benefits from the collaboration of the Regional Museums Directorate and the Museo Campano di Capua of the Province of Caserta.
