National Award “Serra – Campi Flegrei” 2023. Registration extended until March 31 with an important novelty.

The deadline for registrations for the third edition of the "Premio Serra - Campi Flegrei" promoted by the Teatro Serra in Naples (in Fuorigrotta, in Via Diocleziano 31) has been extended to 316 March, following the agreement with the Capitoline cultural center "Artemia" , promoter of the award for theatrical shorts, to include in the respective 2023/24 billboards the best theatrical short selected in Rome and the winner of the new Special Award, voted in Naples. «Shortly before the expiry of the tender; we got to know the cultural association Artemia and their prize for theatrical shorts, discovering so many affinities with this space in Rome and we decided to twin to circulate the respective prizes and projects beyond our territories» say Pietro Tammaro and Mauro Palumbo, founders of the theatre.
Open to professional and non-professional artists, without age limits, the 2023 edition, which enjoys, for the third consecutive year, the patronage of the Municipality of Naples, will see Authors and Actors compete in the art of the monologue respectively, with an unpublished text of a maximum of 5 pages for the former, and a monologue of between 4 and 7 minutes, for the latter. The Directors, on the other hand, will have 20 minutes to set up the first scene of the third act of “Hamlet” by W. Shakespeare in the translation by Anna Laura Messeri, teacher at the Scuola del Teatro Stabile di Genova, strictly respecting the script attached to the announcement and 10 minutes for the mise en espace of the interpreters.
During the auditions that will take place between April and May, a Selective Jury of professionals will choose the nine competitors - three for each category - who will participate in the final already set for Monday 2 October, during which an Honorary Jury, composed of illustrious personalities from the theater, culture and journalism, will decree the winner of each of them - who will win a cash prize of 400 euros - and new in recent weeks, will award the Special Prize to a particularly deserving artist, who will win three performances at the "Centro Culturale Artemia" in Rome, during the 2023/24 season with the formula of 70% of the takings (Without guaranteed minimum, ENPALS expenses, SIAE, food and accommodation paid by the artist/Company).
The Teatro Serra will host, in a similar way, the winner of the “InCorti da Artemia – National Festival of Short Theatre” Award, organized by the Roman space.
Participation in several sections, by paying a single fee for secretarial expenses – equal to 40 euros – is allowed only for candidate actors, including authors of the text in the competition.
