It was held before the Judge of the Court of Benevento, Dr. Monaco, the trial against Antonio Meccariello, 44 years old, from Moiano, agricultural entrepreneur, defended by the lawyers Vittorio Fucci and Cosimo Servodio.
In particular, Meccariello was accused of the illegal detention of many live specimens of wild boar species, in relation to what was discovered in October 2019 by the Carabinieri Forestali of Airola.
The story is part of the long-standing problem, which also affects Sannio, of wild boar overpopulation, as a consequence of decisions that were adopted several decades ago by the Campania Region.
As is known, overpopulation has caused, over the years, serious dangers for citizens also in relation to road traffic in the Sannio area.
At the end of the trial, the Judge, accepting the thesis of the lawyers Vittorio Fucci and Cosimo Servodio, acquitted Meccariello.
