The 49-year-old man who disappeared yesterday from Bracigliano, in the province of Salerno, was found lifeless. The search was launched following the alarm raised by his family, who did not see the man who had left his home yesterday in search of asparagus return.
This morning, after having tried in vain to search for him in the area and to contact him by telephone, his family alerted the police who sent out the alarm to the Campania-Cnsas Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service. Searches were then started in the inaccessible areas by the Cnsas, the Guardia di Finanza Alpine Rescue Service and the Fire Brigade.
The helicopter of the 6th flight department of the State Police also arrived to support the search on land, with a CNSAS technician on board, followed by the Fire Brigade helicopter, whose crew, after several overflights, noticed the man in the thick vegetation.
The man, reached by land by technicians and health workers of the Cnsas and personnel of the Guardia di Finanza and the Fire Department, was found lifeless. After the authorization of the magistrate and the visit of the coroner, the body was recovered with a stretcher and delivered to the family. The Carabinieri and volunteers of the local Civil Protection also participated in the search operation.
