Music, colors, shows and suggestive scenarios, gastronomy, art, folklore, traditions, culture: these are the elements of “Cetara Summer Festival 2023”, the summer program of the Municipality of Cetara that is preparing to warm up its engines.
The months of July and August - close to the long-awaited patronal feast of San Pietro last June 29, a ritual that marks the wish for a "blessed" and prosperous season for the fishing village - will be rich in content that carries forward the vision of the municipal administration, led by the mayor, Fortunato Della Monica.
The usual support of the Campania Region and the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno is joined by individual productions that have bet, since last year, on the new and suggestive landing point of the Cetarese events: the Arena del Porto “On Waves”. The councilor with responsibility for Tourism and Entertainment, Daniele Luigi D'Elia, intended to further enhance the famous “port square”, a platform literally lying “on the waves of the sea”, with a breathtaking view that is reflected at 360° on the tower, on the dock, on the unmistakable body of water of the Amalfi Coast.
“Around the new pulsating heart of the Cetarese season, events scattered throughout the most beautiful places in the village are set like precious stones, from Largo Marina to Piazzetta Grotta, from Piazza S. Maria di Costantinopoli to the natural amphitheater of Piazza San Francesco” – D'Elia anticipates. It starts with “Le Notti Azzurre”, from next weekend, starting with the shows of “Favolando”, a format entirely dedicated to children – once again in first place in the investments and attention of the municipality – so that it is a summer truly tailored to everyone. The formula that gives its title to the Ipiemme project (International Puppets Museum) places fairy tales at the center, as bearers of values capable of helping to better understand the present and, thus, to give meaning to the world.
Theatrical art is an art that stimulates both imagination and critical thinking, opening up to diversity, developing empathy. Children's theater is therefore of great educational value, offering useful tools to understand and make sense of one's self and the community. In this perspective, there will be four events dedicated to the iconic characters of the fairy tale tradition that open in July, Friday 7, with "The Little Mermaid" in Largo Marina, at 21.30:19 pm, a family show in musical format, curated by Arterie Teatro - Molfetta, to continue on Wednesday 21.30 July, in Piazza Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, again at XNUMX:XNUMX pm, with "Pulcinella e la cassa magia", curated by the Compagnia degli sbuffi.
Always with a particular eye on social issues, on the theme of inclusion and inclusiveness, the Im(n)pari review returns, conceived and desired by councilor Cinzia Forcellino, with responsibility for Culture, School, Equal Opportunities, to induce through entertainment to messages on themes related to equality, the role of women, young people, fluid generations and the concept of family.Impari therefore becomes “In pari” because the topics discussed during the events, although always aimed at entertainment, must have the natural consequence of reflection, improvement and awareness of real equal opportunities and not just promises” – explains Forcellino.
Next Saturday, July 8, from 21.30:90 p.m., Largo Marina will be animated by the theatre-song show, curated by Giacomo Casaula and his band, entitled “Italia '90 e oltre” and entirely dedicated to the XNUMXs. The story of a generation that, today more than ever, is at the center of political and social discussion, in addition to having determined a real aesthetic trend, becoming an even more current phenomenon of custom, on social media as in fashion.
From 20.30 pm on Tuesday 18 July, two loyal guests of the village, Stella Pulpo and Maria Isabella Premutico, will return to Piazzale Grotta, thanks to the ambientArti association which has been entrusted with the creative direction of the meeting, for an intimate and special chat.
Writer and author of the historic blog “Memorie di una Vagina”, one of the first in Italy to talk about sex from a blatantly feminine point of view, after the success of “Fammi uno squillo quando arriva”, Pulpo expressed the desire to present her latest work “C'era una volta il sesso. Divagazioni umbilicali per ritrovare il piacere perde” (ed. La Feltrinelli/Urra), in one of the places she “loved the most”.
She will be joined by the explosive verve of Premutico aka Il Merdoscopo, who has always been an activist on issues concerning the free expression of women. More than 260 thousand followers for an astrology that embraces everyone, overcoming the prejudices of skeptics because it is dosed with intelligence in a much deeper and "psychological" reading of the world around us. The actress and author Viola Di Caprio closes the show, with an unpublished monologue entitled "Smetto quando voglio" in stand-up comedy style. The journalist Barbara Cangiano will host the evening.
“Giving women the opportunity to talk about certain topics serves above all to clear concepts and observations linked to remote worlds” – concludes Cinzia Forcellino.
And, again, author talks with “InCostiera Amalfitana” for the Mediterranean Book Festival, on July 12, 13 and 14, at 20 pm, in Piazzetta Grotta, but also with “Le Giornate dell'Oro Giallo” for the Lemon Festival in Piazzetta Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, on July 15 and 16 at 18.30:47 pm, together with the association “L'Innesto”, to discover the goodness of lemons and the agricultural part of a village that has made its flavors a must recognized throughout the world. The culmination of the activities related to food and wine will be, like every year, the most famous “Notte delle Lampare”, an event that has reached its 21th edition and needs no introduction. The culture of fishing, an expression of the history and genotype of Cetara, from 22 pm on Saturday XNUMX July, comes to life through a night of fishing, in which the public will be able to participate in the hunt with the ancient technique of lampare.
For this unique occasion, where popular music blends with local products, the Arena “On Waves” will host the food area, with tastings and show cooking, purchasing different types of tickets (postoriservato.it). «After the years of pause due to the pandemic, the Notte delle Lampare returns, the most typical representation of our country.
Televisions, radios and artists have documented and represented the true spirit of the fisherman, but this night shows all the sacrifice and love of a people towards their sea and what it offers. It is one of the most beautiful shows ever and we are really excited for the success of the festival" - announces the mayor Della Monica. But that's not all.
Comedies, cinema, classical and pop music concerts, DJ sets for the younger ones, will be the heart of the Endless and Arts to Love festivals, which will end with the national stage for the Miss Italia selections, scheduled for 21.30 pm on Sunday 30 July.
