A carefree walk in the mountains that turned into a tragedy. A dramatic accident occurred today in Roccapiemonte, at high altitude, in the territory of Castel San Giorgio: the protagonists are two boys who were on an excursion.
The two young men were riding their horses across a path bike, when one of the two lost control for reasons yet to be ascertained and is precipitate in a cliff. A fall that unfortunately proved fatal for Francesco Puopolo, 16 years old, native of Roccapiemonte.
Still in shock, it was the victim's friend who alerted the police after witnessing the dramatic accident. The Carabinieri and 118 personnel intervened on the scene. The rush to the Umberto I hospital in Nocera Inferiore was in vain, the 16-year-old did not make it.
