The honorary deputy prosecutor at the Lecce court, Antonio Zito, 57 years old, is being investigated for sexual assault in competition by the Benevento Public Prosecutor's Office.
A doctor working at the hospital in Benevento is also accused of the same crime in this investigation. These new charges emerged during the listening of some wiretaps in the investigation of the Potenza Prosecutor's Office, where Zito is being investigated along with six other people for alleged investigations manipulated and archived in exchange for money.
The charges against them, for the main investigation are: corruption in the exercise of functions, corruption in judicial acts, undue inducement and extortion. The Benevento Prosecutor's Office is now investigating for some episodes committed inside a cardiology clinic of the hospital of the same capital.
According to the prosecution, Zito allegedly presented himself as a cardiologist during visits to unsuspecting patients carried out by another doctor, and on these occasions he allegedly committed sexual acts against the women with the complicity of the other suspect.
