The long-awaited appointment with the Sannio Express, also known as the Hot Air Balloon Train, a vintage convoy that connects Naples Central with Fragneto Monforte, in the Benevento area, returns on Friday 13th, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th October for the 35th edition of the 'International Hot Air Balloon Festival'.
The initiative is promoted by Acamir in collaboration with Fondazione FS, as part of the 2023 Historic Trains program. Historic train connections are planned for the entire weekend.
The train is scheduled to depart on Friday 13 October at 15:50 from Naples Central station, with intermediate stops at the stations of Aversa (16:14), Caserta (16:29), Telese Cerreto (17:04), Benevento (17:49), Pietrelcina (18:19) and arriving in Fragneto at 18:50.
The historic return train is scheduled to depart at 20:00, arriving at Napoli Centrale at 22:57. The train is scheduled to depart on Saturday 14 October at 07:20 from Napoli Centrale station, with intermediate stops at the stations of Aversa (07:42), Caserta (08:18), Telese Cerreto (09:02), Benevento (09:33), Pietrelcina (10:02) and arriving at Fragneto at 10:35. The historic return train is scheduled to depart at 18:50, arriving at Napoli Centrale at 21:30.
The train is scheduled to depart on Sunday 15 October at 07:20 from Naples Central Station, with intermediate stops at the stations of Aversa (07:42), Caserta (08:08), Telese Cerreto (08:46), Benevento (09:16), Pietrelcina (09:45) and arrive in Fragneto at 10:16. The return historic train is scheduled to depart at 20:08, arriving in Naples Central at 23:00.
