The “Best Traditional Artisan Panettone” and the “Best Creative Chocolate Artisan Panettone” are from Campania, while the “Best Artisan Pandoro” is from Lombardy according to the seventh edition of “Mastro Panettone”, a competition organized by Goloasi.it (a portal for pastry shops and ice cream parlors) which awards the best artisanal panettone and pandoro of the year.
The winner of both categories dedicated to panettone was Pompilio Giardino of Panificio Pompilio in Ariano Irpino (Avellino), while the best pandoro went to Roberto Moreschi of Roberto Pastry & Bakery in Chiavenna (Sondrio).
Also on the podium were Pasquale Pesce from Pasticceria Pesce 1896 in Avella (Avellino) and Francesco Flammini from Caffè Pasticceria Sibilla in Visso (Macerata), respectively for second and third place in the category “Best traditional artisanal panettone.
Second and third place for “Best artisanal creative chocolate panettone” went to Riccardo Manduca of Solodamanduca in Aprilia (Latina) and Luigi Vetrella of Il Forno Grani & Altre Visioni in Caserta. While the second and third places for the “Best artisanal pandoro” category were won by Innocenzo Martuccio of Pasticceria Enzo Martuccio in Colle Sannita (Benevento) and Martina Moroni of Bar Gelateria Le Fate in Lariano (Rome).
The winners were announced in Bari after a blind tasting of 42 leavened products that reached the final (20 traditional panettoni, 15 creative chocolate ones and 7 pandoro).
