The trial for the murder of Giovanbattista Cutolo, a 24-year-old musician from the Scarlatti Young Orchestra, saw the prosecutor of the Naples Juvenile Court request a 20-year sentence for the 17-year-old defendant.
The murder occurred on the night of August 31, 2023 in Piazza Municipio in Napoli, during a fight between young people in which the young man was killed with gunshots.
The defense attorney for the defendant, a 17-year-old, had proposed probation, but the request was rejected by the preliminary hearing judge. Both the defendant and the victim's mother, Daniela Di Maggio, were present in the courtroom, assisted by the attorney Claudio Botti.
