A fire broke out during the night at the Fiera Campionaria in Venticano, in the province of Avellino, causing the death of some chicks. The alarm was raised around midnight, when the flames, probably caused by a short circuit, came to life in one of the stands dedicated to the sale of animals.
The firefighters, who intervened promptly, managed to contain and put out the fire before it could spread to the adjacent stands, thus avoiding greater damage both in terms of safety and economics. Despite the timely intervention, the fire unfortunately caused the death of some chicks present inside the stand.
On site, in addition to the firefighters, the Carabinieri of the Mirabella Eclano company also intervened for the relevant surveys. The police are now investigating to determine the exact causes of the fire, with the initial suspicion that points to an electrical malfunction as a possible origin of the flames.
