Moments of terror a Pozzuoli, where this evening a series of earthquakes caused panic among the population. The strongest, of magnitude 4.4, was felt at 20.10 pm and was accompanied by a ostentation and feeling that the earth was rising. Then a third shock at 21,46pm of magnitude 3.9.

The tremors caused screams and a general stampedeand, with many people preferring to leave their homes to go to open spaces or areas considered safer.
Fear is still high, especially among those who have noticed cracks and damage to their homes. “The checks they are doing or will do are not enough for us, we want the truth”, some citizens shout.
“We are convinced that they are not telling us everything. Evacuation drills and chatter are no longer enough. Each scholar gives his own version, but we no longer know where the truth lies.”

Many have decided to spend the night in the car, not feeling safe within their own four walls. The square of the former NATO base, where there are no buildings, has become a meeting point for the population seeking refuge.
Railway traffic suspended
As a precautionary measure, Trenitalia ha train traffic suspended in the Node of Napoli following the earthquake. The lines affected are:
Rome-Naples via Formia
Rome-Naples via Cassino
Naples San Giovanni Barra-Villa Literno
Naples-Salerno via Nocera Inferiore
The suspension was ordered to allow technicians to carry out the necessary checks on the railway lines. Trenitalia informs that the traffic is also slowed down on the high-speed lines Rome-Naples and Naples-Salerno via Mount Vesuvius.
The railway company invites travellers to consult the Trenitalia website or the app for up-to-date information on the situation and any train delays or cancellations.
Firefighters, ambulances and law enforcement intervened on site to monitor the situation and provide assistance to the population.
At the moment there are no reports of victims or serious injuries, but fear and uncertainty reign among the citizens of Campi Flegrei.
Authorities urge the population to remain calm and follow the instructions of law enforcement. They also recommend not spreading false or alarmist news on social networks.
