An anti-drug operation by the Carabinieri of the local station, in collaboration with the Calabrian Carabinieri Hunters helicopter squadron, led to the arrest of two people in the quiet town of Agerola. The operation, called “Continuum Bellum 2,” saw a series of tight controls that ended with the seizure of a considerable quantity of drugs.
Yesterday, the Carabinieri carried out a search at the home of a 46-year-old man and his twenty-year-old son, both with no criminal record and resident in agerola. During the search, the military discovered five bags containing a total of 730 grams of marijuana, cleverly hidden in a tool room.
The two arrested are currently awaiting trial and will have to answer to charges of possession and dealing of narcotics. The competent authorities are evaluating further investigations to understand the possible existence of a larger drug dealing network linked to the two men. In the meantime, the seized drugs have been sent to laboratories for routine analysis.
