Portici. A 37-year-old from Ercolano with a criminal record was arrested last night by agents of the Portici-Ercolano Police Station for aggravated theft.
The man was caught while wandering around suspiciously in via Mare in Ercolano, in possession of a bag containing objects stolen from a car parked in Portici.
The robbery and the finding of the thief
The story began when a citizen reported the theft of his car in Portici, in Piazza San Pasquale. The officers, during the search for the thief, noticed the 37-year-old with the suspicious bag. Once stopped and checked, the man was found in possession of:
A telescopic truncheon
A 9cm multi-blade knife
A Swiss Army Knife
2 screwdrivers
Personal effects of the owner of the stolen car
A cell phone lost last month
Arrest and report
The 37-year-old, already known to the police, was arrested for aggravated theft and reported for:
Unjustified possession of altered keys or lock picks
Carrying weapons or objects capable of causing offence
Appropriation of lost things
The stolen goods were recovered and returned to their rightful owner.
