Anacapri ready to limit motor navigation near two of its most precious pearls: the Blue Grotto and Cala Ventroso.
The plan, proposed by the mayor of Anacapri Franco Cerrotta, has already received the approval of the maritime director of Campania, Admiral Inspector Pietro Giuseppe Vella.
The aim is to ensure the safety of swimmers and sailors by countering the danger caused by boats that come too close to the coast.
Not only that: the measure also aims to protect the marine environment in an area of particular value.
Rowing boats yes, dinghies and yachts no. Motor navigation will be prohibited within one hundred meters of the coast, while it will be regularly permitted for boatmen who, with their rowing boats, transport tourists to the caves.
Maximum cooperation from maritime authorities. Admiral Vella confirmed full support for the initiative, underlining the importance of a shared approach to the regulation of maritime spaces.
A commitment to protecting the sea. In addition to the constant presence of the Coast Guard and the Police Force, Admiral Vella and Mayor Cerrotta emphasized the need to raise awareness among sea users of respect for navigation rules and proper use of the marine environment.
