Ischia. An incredible scene occurred during the night in Ischia: a vessel, the Aga Khan, literally climbed up a cliff at the exit of the port.
The accident, fortunately without serious consequences, was caused by a risky maneuver by the owner, who pushed the vessel at full speed, well beyond the permitted limit.
Around midnight, the man, under the influence of alcohol (with a blood alcohol level above 0,8 g/l), accelerated to 20-22 knots, ignoring the 3 knot speed limit imposed for entering and exiting the port.
The force of the impact caused the vessel to climb the cliff, avoiding the hull being torn apart.
There were five young people from Pozzuoli on board, all unharmed except one who suffered a slight injury to the eyebrow. The owner, justifying himself with the lack of a light signal on the rocks, immediately lost his boating license and was fined 8300 euros.
The Port Authority of Ischia, which intervened promptly, is now working on the removal of the vessel, an operation which will be paid for by the owner.
