"There will be no party, much less with 500 people, only the artist's private presence is planned, but it will be a completely private visit."
With these words, at the end of the meeting of the Public Order Committee held at the Prefecture in Naples, the Neapolitan prefect Michele di Bari clarified the hypothesis of a party at the Pompeii excavations to celebrate the birthday of the pop star Madonna.
Madonna's on Friday 16th August will be "A completely private visit, with elements of cultural curiosity, where I believe there will also be a meeting with the director inside the park." underlines the prefect of Bari.
"Madonna has a lot of cultural interest; she loves this archaeological park and can't wait to go. But there won't be dinner. None of that," he reiterates, "there's just a cultural event inside the park."
As for the measures to be adopted, the prefect limits himself to saying that "they will be adequate". "Those expected," he specifies, "when these events take place with personalities who can attract a lot of people.
As for possible itineraries, we still don't have precise information; these are questions that develop day by day. For now, Pompeii is being discussed."
For the prefect the arrival of the pop star is to be considered "a recognition of the archaeological city projects."
"Our Lady loves Pompeii," he reiterates, "and she loves this archaeological park. She can't wait to go there, but it is, I repeat, a completely private visit for cultural purposes."
