Following the safety operations conducted by the firefighters, the road section between Fuorigrotta and Vomero in the direction of Capodichino, previously closed to allow for interventions, has been reopened. However, the section between Vomero and Fuorigrotta in the direction of Pozzuoli remains temporarily closed, causing traffic disruption.
The lifting and removal operations of the tanker will be concluded during the night and then, after the cleaning of the road, the stretch of the road will be reopened. tangential closed since this morning.
Currently, there is a tailback of about 2 kilometers between Arenella and Vomero, in the direction of Pozzuoli, due to the mandatory exit at Vomero. Motorists heading to Pozzuoli are forced to exit the ring road, take the ordinary road and then re-enter the motorway.

In the meantime, two buildings in Via Po, not far from the accident area, were evacuated for safety reasons. In total, 116 families living at numbers 15, 31 and 33 had to temporarily abandon their homes. The police and firefighters managed the operation, allowing the families to return shortly after 19:30 p.m., once it was established that the danger deriving from the dispersed fuel had subsided.
The accident caused not only traffic disruption, but also moments of tension for residents in the area, who were forced to leave their homes as a precaution. The authorities continue to monitor the situation, while waiting for the full restoration of traffic on the Ring Road.
