Antonello Young Add a New Award to Your Palmarès
After the success obtained at the Castrovillari Prize, the writer Antonello Iovane has added another prestigious award to his list of honours. On Saturday 21st September, the conference room of the Rectorate of the University of Salento was packed with people for the final ceremony of the XIX Vitruvio Le Muse Prize, during which the author from Lamezia Terme was awarded the “Recognition of Merit” for his second novel “Waiting for Her”.
The Critics' Response
Antonello Iovane's work has been praised again by literary critics. "I am happy that the story told in the book continues to excite the juries of various literary competitions," said Iovane. The author underlined the importance of the collaboration with his editor Marcella Garau, with whom he shares the prize. The synergy between writer and editor seems to be one of the ingredients of the success of "Aspettando lei".
An Award Dedicated to the Family
During the award ceremony, Iovane wanted to dedicate the prize to his brothers, highlighting the difficult times they have gone through together, especially the recent loss of both parents. This gesture highlighted how much the family has been a source of support and inspiration for the author, clearly influencing his work.
Leonardo Manfredi: A Respected Character
The adventures of Leonardo Manfredi, the novel's protagonist, continue to excite not only readers but also the judges of literary competitions. The popularity of the character and the quality of Iovane's narration are transforming each of his participations in literary events into a sort of "literary tour" through Italy. This latest recognition to the Vitruvius Award The Muses of Lecce further confirms the skill and talent of the Lamezia writer, promising new successes and new chapters in his literary career.
