Naples. A patrol of the Carabinieri was travelling along via Cristoforo Colombo to return to the barracks when the attention of the police she was attracted by a Fiat Panda parked on the edge of the road.
Inside, two young men appeared to be engaged in an activity that aroused the suspicions of the military.
At that moment, the sense of duty prevailed over all other considerations and the carabinieri decided to proceed with a more thorough check. Approaching the small car, they identified the two occupants: they were Ciro Vanacore, 20 years old, and Dario Russo, 19, both already known to the police.
During the search, the carabinieri noticed suspicious movements by the two young men, who tried in vain to get rid of some small doses of drugs. The military, however, managed to recover the material, preventing it from being dispersed.
The search led to an even more unexpected outcome: hidden under the car seat, the carabinieri found and seized a block of hashish weighing approximately 100 grams.
Faced with the evidence of the facts, the two young men were arrested on charges of possession for the purpose of dealing in narcotics. Taken to the barracks, they made themselves available to provide their statements.
