Aglianico del Taburno among the 10 best wines of Italy according to the Bibenda 2025 guide

The editorial staff of Bibenda, at the end of the guide of the Italian Sommelier Federation (FIS), chooses the champions of champions, ten wines, among all those tasted and then awarded with the 5 bunches to represent the best quality.

According to ANSA, the FIS tasters' selection for the twenty-seventh edition of Bibenda 2025—the labels that "stay in the mind, soul, and heart"—identified as "the best wines, those you never forget"—includes the 900 Sopraquota 2022 from the Aosta Valley, a white wine made from Petite Arvine grapes grown at over 900 meters above sea level. Produced by Luca D'Attoma, a mountaineering winemaker, for the Rosset Terroir winery.

In Lombardy, the Franciacorta Brut Teatro Alla Scala 2020 from the Bellavista winery of Vittorio and Francesca Moretti, supported in the winemaking by Richard Geoffroy, renowned Chef de Cave of Dom Pérignon.

From Tuscany comes an unexpected white wine by Barbara Tamburini, a winemaker specializing in great reds who has long been working on equally great whites. Today, Gualdo del Re's 2022 Vermentino is among Italy's top ten wines.

Marilisa Allegrini in Tuscany at her Poggio al Tesoro winery with the wine dedicated to her beloved brother, Bolgheri Superiore Dedicato A Walter 2020. Winemaker Christian Coco. From the Marche region, the Oasi degli Angeli winery presents the Kurni 2022, made from Montepulciano grapes, created by Marco Casolanetti, a creator of charismatic wines.

From Lazio, the Piglio Superiore PerEmilia 2022, a biotype of Cesanese di Affile, signed by Anton Maria Coletti Conti, owner and winemaker of the company, dedicated to his wife Emilia.

Poggio Le Volpi from Monte Porzio Catone presents Donnaluce 2023, a Malvasia del Lazio blend created by owner and winemaker Felice Mergè. From Velletri, Giorgia Bagaglini's Colle di Maggio winery presents Lunapigra 2021, a Chardonnay and Fiano blend created by winemaker Angelo Giovannini.

From Campania, the Aglianico del Taburno Safinos 2020, created by the great Franco Bernabei, here accompanied by his son Marco, for Carmine Fusco's Il Poggio winery. From Sicily, the Etna Rosso Prefillossera 2021 from the Palmento Costanzo winery, owned by the Costanzo family, is produced by Nicola Centonze, a winemaker with extensive experience in Etna production.
