Emanuele De Stefano, 35, a leading member of the Amato Pagano clan accused of having smuggled cell phones and drugs into the Sulmona prison where he is being held, has been acquitted.
The preliminary investigations judge Alessandra De Marco of the Sulmona Court fully accepted the thesis of her lawyer, rejecting the request for a 5-year sentence formulated by the prosecutor.
Together with De Stefano, who is serving a 12-year prison sentence for extortion and Camorra association, his sister and an inspector were also accused. prison police found in possession of a note containing the woman's telephone number.
According to the charges, the woman, with the agent's agreement, allegedly brought 10 doses of cocaine and two cell phones into prison on several occasions.
But the lawyer Massimo Autieri, who defends Emanuele De Stefano, managed to demonstrate that the note only showed an incomplete attempt at an agreement and that there is no evidence that this occurred.
And it is for this reason that the preliminary investigations judge acquitted the three defendants.
