Standing wearing a bib with the words 'I cure you, don't attack me'. This is how the doctors of Naples demonstrated against the attacks that health workers are victims of. The occasion was the ceremony of the Hippocratic oath for 530 young doctors from Naples and the province underway at the City of Science.
“This is the message we give to everyone,” said the president of the Order of Physicians of Naples and the province, Bruno Zuccarelli, recalling only the latest cases of attacks on medical and healthcare personnel that occurred in Melito and in Aversa. A problem, that of violence against doctors, in particular against those who work in emergencies, which is among the causes of the lack of personnel in these areas.
“We need to bring back the passion – added Zuccarelli – we have the problem of aggression, but there is also the issue of the difference in quality of working life which is much more acute compared to Northern Italy and compared to abroad”.
