The second single “A step to lose the balance” previews the new album of Oblique Strings, Entitled "Cries and Whispers“, which will be available from February 14, 2025. This song, which marks the transition from the first acoustic single to the band's new sound, introduces Volume 1 of the album, characterized by an electric and prog rock style.
The song
The instrumental track is divided into three parts and explores the theme of change, highlighting how destabilization can be necessary for growth and evolution. This also reflects the musical evolution of Corde Oblique, who distance themselves from their initially acoustic style to embrace new sounds. For the visual work associated with this single, Indonesian photographer Hardijanto Budiman contributed his art. Budiman, known for his award-winning career, created the cover photography and booklet for the upcoming album.
The band has announced the first dates of the tour to present the new album live. On November 23, Corde Oblique will perform at the Lizard Club in Caserta, sharing the stage with Spiritual Front. Afterwards, the tour will continue with stops in Sofia, Ashaffenburg and Nìs.
La band
Corde Oblique, led by Riccardo Prencipe, was born in Naples in 2005. Prencipe, a classical guitarist who graduated from the Conservatory of Naples, has produced eight albums that explore the history of Italian art and Southern Italy. The band has collaborated with numerous important artists and has an extensive concert activity in Italy and abroad, distinguishing itself as one of the first Italian bands to perform successfully in China.
