Dog burned with boiling oil in Sala Consilina, investigation launched by the Lagonegro Prosecutor's Office

The Lagonegro Prosecutor's Office has opened a case against unknown persons following the serious case of abuse suffered by Blanco, a well-known stray dog ​​in the Sala Consilina Bus Terminal area. The animal, who had become a familiar sight to local travelers, was brutally burned with boiling oil, causing severe injuries all over his body.

The incident sparked a wave of outrage among the residents of Sala Consilina and beyond, as Blanco was well-liked by the community, who considered him a friendly and reassuring presence. The dog, who frequented the terminal daily, had been emotionally adopted by many, especially the commuters who had watched him grow up and cared for him over the years.

The atrocious attack, committed by an unknown assailant, deeply shocked not only the residents but also the volunteers of the International Organization for Animal Protection (OIPA), who were among the first to intervene after the report of the young woman who was taking care of Blanco. Immediately after receiving the alarm, the volunteers gave the dog first aid and started a fundraiser to guarantee the necessary veterinary treatment.

The case has sparked a wave of solidarity and anger, with many citizens demanding justice for the animal and urging the authorities to shed light on what happened. Despite the difficulties, OIPA volunteers have promised not to give up and to continue fighting to identify those responsible for this act of unheard-of cruelty.
