Sparanise – A 54-year-old man was arrested by the Carabinieri, caught red-handed while setting fire to waste in a private area along Via Calvi. The presence of a thick cloud of black smoke, visible above the homes, attracted the attention of a patrol of the Carabinieri of Sparanise, who immediately intervened on the spot.
When they arrived at the man's property, the officers discovered that the 54-year-old was burning stacked plastic materials and old furniture, causing a highly polluting and unauthorized combustion.
Faced with difficulties in putting out the fire, it was necessary to request the support of a team of firefighters from Caserta, who put out the flames with the help of a fire truck. The man was arrested and placed under house arrest; he will have to answer to the charge of illegal burning of waste.
