The Benevento Philharmonic Orchestra enchanted the audience with a magnificent tribute to Lucio Dalla. Under the direction of Letizia Vennarini, the Teatro Bellini witnessed an exciting evening entitled “Lucio Dalla Concerto Sinfonico”. Spectators had the opportunity to rediscover the famous songs of the Bolognese maestro in a new light, thanks to the symphonic arrangements curated by Alessandro Verrillo.
Gabriel Esposito
The event had a special guest: singer-songwriter Gabriele Esposito. With his guitar and voice, he paid homage to some of Dalla's iconic songs such as "Se io fossi un angelo" and "Ma come fanno i marinai". The highlight of his performance was the finale of "L'anno che verrà", which touched the hearts of the audience.
The show
The evening had a particularly suggestive beginning, with the use of the introduction taken from an archive interview of the voice of Lucio Dalla himself. The magic of the most beloved songs, such as “Canzone” and “Anna e Marco”, was intertwined with moments of narration by legends of Italian music such as Gino Paoli. There was no shortage of great successes such as “Disperato erotico stomp” and “La sera dei miracoli”, which continued to excite and capture the attention of the public.
Magic Moment
A particularly moving moment during the tribute was the performance of “Caruso,” a song that expresses Dalla’s deep admiration for Naples. The interpretation was able to convey the intensity and passion of the melody, marking one of the high points of the show. The evening concluded with the notes of “Piazza grande” and “Stella di mare,” leading the audience to stand up for a final ovation and request an encore, reconfirming the success and exceptional talent of the artists on stage.
