Three traffic police officers were hit on Via Tiburtina in Rome, with serious injuries for one of them, a 24-year-old man. The accident was caused by an off-duty police officer who tested positive for alcohol.
The traffic warden, hired for only two months, was just days away from completing his probationary period. What was supposed to be the beginning of a career turned into a tragedy: during a routine service activity, while reporting an accident with no injuries, he and two other colleagues were hit, and now one of them risks losing a second limb, after the amputation of the first.
Trade unionist Marco Milani, Roman secretary of Sulpl, released a statement describing the dynamics of the accident, underlining how the carabiniere ignored the safety lanes, hitting the officers with such force that their vehicle overturned.
Milani expressed sorrow and closeness for the incident, denouncing the precarious safety conditions and the lack of protection for the Local Police officers, recalling that the young policeman even risks losing his job if the convalescence period were to exceed eight months, due to a private contract that does not recognize the police officers as a Police Force.
The union also reiterated the need for a national reform to improve safety and work organization for local police officers, asking institutions to intervene with less hypocrisy and more determination to ensure training, adequate tools and protection for officers.
Napoli, Mazzocchi: "This group is full of values and never gives up."
The draw against Roma at the Maradona leaves mixed feelings, but Pasquale Mazzocchi looks beyond the result and defends Napoli's spirit. Speaking to Radio Crc, the Italian winger analyzed the 2-2 draw against Gasperini's team and praised the team's reaction. "Against Roma, I think we lacked nothing, it's…
Roma, Gasperini: "Napoli's match is important but not decisive for the Champions League."
ROME – "These will undoubtedly be two important matches against Napoli and Juve. They're more significant, but ultimately they're still worth three points." Gian Piero Gasperini maintains a moderate stance on the eve of the league match against Antonio Conte's team. "The Champions League odds don't vary much from season to season, so they'll be important matches, but not decisive for fourth place."
The Giallorossi coach rejects the idea of a definitive turning point in the European race and urges us to look at the overall path. "We've always focused on our own path. After 24 matchdays, we're there, along with Juve and Napoli, with AC Milan still visible. I've always achieved results on the penultimate or final matchday. We must be ready to stay in the competition until the end."
