In the Dolomites, the new year began with an unusual aurora borealis. Footage from some webcams, such as those at Plan de Corones, shows the sky tinged with pink during New Year's Eve. The meteorologist of the Province of Bolzano, Dieter Peterlin, reported the event on "X". This phenomenon, a true spectacle of nature, is very rare at Italian latitudes, having already occurred last May.

The Northern Lights are a very interesting event, but I don't understand why they aren't seen more often. Webcams are useful, but I would have preferred to see them in person, even though the pink is beautiful.
