The Ruperto da Nola Award, promoted by the city’s Slow Food convivium, will see Maurizio De Giovanni among its awardees. This initiative, which takes its name from Ruperto, a cook in the noble houses of Nola in the 16th century, will hold its ceremony tomorrow in the hall of the Historical Archaeological Museum of Nola. De Giovanni will receive the award for “best communicator” for the book “Robin Food”.

The ceremony
The event, open to the public, will take place at 17:30 pm at the Nola Museum, under the direction of Giacomo Franzese. The Neapolitan writer will be awarded for his contribution to the valorization of Neapolitan traditions through his latest book. The text, published by Slow Food, is a tribute to the culinary culture of Naples, presented in an ironic and often surreal way.
Collaborations and Sponsorships
The organization of the event was managed in collaboration with several local entities, including the cultural association SCENART CULTURA IN VITA, the Mondadori literary café of Nola, the Hyria Novla Foundation, the Pro Loco “Nola città d'arte” and the Historical Museum of Nola. In addition, the event enjoys the patronage of the municipality of Nola. At the end of the ceremony, guests will be able to participate in a toast and taste desserts prepared by pastry chef Raffaele Caldarelli.

It's a nice initiative to promote the culture of Nola and Neapolitan cuisine, but I don't understand why there isn't a greater involvement of the community. Let's hope there are more events like this in the future.
