In Ottaviano the chaos of the nightlife has once again resulted in violence.
On Sunday evening, a furious fight broke out outside the ItalMare service station located on Via Ferrovie dello Stato between young people who frequent the area.
As shown by the images sent by a resident to the Green-Left alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, there were more than one violent outbreak. The fights probably originated from traffic issues. The fights also caused traffic to be paralyzed.
“On Fridays they fight, on Saturdays they fight,” the citizen explained, “and today, which is Sunday, obviously, they fight.”
“It is not the first time that similar episodes have occurred in Ottaviano and in any other area of the youth by-night scene” - declares Borrelli - “A trifle is enough to make the spark go off, it takes very little to have someone injured, someone dead.
We remember the dramatic stories of Santo Romano, Francesco Pio Maimone, Giogiò Cutolo and many others. Calling in the police when the situation has degenerated is no longer enough, it has never been enough. We need to do prevention, we need to guard the areas at risk and to do so we need more agents on the territory. These places are time bombs and they need to be defused.”
