Tomorrow will be yet another Black Friday for Italian public transport, with a 24-hour national strike in the public transport sector announced in recent days by Cub Trasporti, Sgb, Cobas Lavoro privato and Adl Cobas.
A mobilization in which wage increases are requested, less exhausting working conditions, greater safety for workers and passengers and against privatizations. In each city the drivers will cross their arms in compliance with different guarantee bands.
In Rome, the strike will involve the Atac network and the peripheral network managed by private operators and the protected bands will go from the beginning of service until 8.30 and from 17 to 20. In Milan, the Atm lines will be regular until 8.45 and from 15 to 18.
In Naples, Busitalia Campania said that the protected time slots will be from 6.30 to 9 and from 13 to 16.30 for urban and extra-urban bus services. Turin, GTT lines will be safe in the 6-9 and 12-15 time slots for the urban-suburban service, the underground and in customer service centres, while from the start of service at 8 and in the 14.30-17.30 time slot for the extra-urban service and the cooperative bus line 3971.
Further strikes are planned at the territorial level on the same day. Namely: the strike of the Csc Mobilità Latina staff called by Osp Filt-Cgil, Uilt-Uil and Ugl-Fna (24 hours), of the Amt staff of Genoa called by Rsa Ugl Autoferro (4 hours), of the Gest Firenze employees called by Osp Cobas Lavoro Privato (24 hours), of the Schiaffini Travel staff in the provinces of Rome and Latina called by Osp Slm-Fast-Confsal (24 hours) and of the Busitalia – Sita Nord in Umbria wanted by Osr Usb Lavoro Privato (24 hours).

It is important that workers have better working conditions and higher wages. Strikes can be a way to make their voices heard, but sometimes it creates inconvenience for passengers who use public transport.
