NAPLES – Friday April 4, 2025, the “Mercalli” Scientific High School in Naples will welcome some of the best Italian students for the XII edition of the National Mathematics Competition “Renato Caccioppoli”.
The event, dedicated to the famous Neapolitan mathematician of the twentieth century, represents an important opportunity for young talents of the discipline to compete. The competition is reserved for students of the fifth year of scientific high schools that have reported an average not less than eight in mathematics. About sixty participants coming from all over Italy will compete with a test developed by the teachers of the Department of Mathematics "R. Caccioppoli" of the University of Naples "Frederick II".
The day will be divided into different moments: the morning will be dedicated to the competition, while the afternoon Aniello Buonocore will hold a master lecture entitled “(Mathematical) Models and (More or Less) Famous Characters in the Game of Football”. The following will take place awards ceremony, during which the first three classified will receive a prize money and a parchment.

The event seems very interesting and useful for students, but I don't know if all the participants will be able to face the competition. I hope there will be a good number of students who will participate in this initiative.
