Progetto Itaca Napoli, the volunteer organization that has been fighting the chaos of mental illness for 11 years with methods that make even the most conservative tremble, is unleashing a storm of generosity with its large-scale spring fundraisers.
Article Key Points
An Explosive Concert for the Cause
On Sunday, May 4, at 18.30:XNUMX p.m., in the picturesque cloister of the Residence Caracciolo in Naples, the Ensemble Fa… Re Sol Musica will take to the stage with a concert that promises to be a blast: the proceeds, once the usual stage expenses have been deducted, will finance Itaca's programs, including the Telephone Helpline, the School Project to prevent mental disorders in schools and universities, and initiatives for the reintegration of patients into work and society, complete with sports activities that challenge the conventions of mental rehabilitation.
The Ensemble That Sings to Disrupt Routines
Made up of passionate volunteer musicians, including one who also plays in Itaca Napoli, this group was born in 2014 for a Christmas concert at the Palace of Justice in Naples. Directed by biologist and singer Mariarosaria Esposito, the ensemble is not new to these adventures: their motto is to have fun and entertain the audience by singing, with music that makes endorphins soar, lowers cortisol levels (the stress hormone) and brings a psychophysical well-being that clashes with daily negativity. Their shows address burning social issues, such as the role of women, demographic decline, immigration, emigration, adoption and loneliness, enriched by historical narratives and mu "pills of culture" that link the songs to ancient proverbs and philosophical curiosities. The program for May 4, inspired by the famous poem “Maggiolata” by Giosuè Carducci, boasts 24 pieces for reciting voice, harpsichord, piano, classical guitar, piccolo, flute and percussion, divided into four sections: Allegria, Bellezza, Amore and Convivialità. Among the pieces, a sonnet by Shakespeare, a piece by Di Giacomo and arias by Banchieri, S. Festa, Lorenzo il Magnifico, Monteverdi, Fabrianese, Salieri stand out, as well as tunes by anonymous masters who have left their mark on musical history.
Tickets are available directly at the Cloister of the Residence Caracciolo and can be booked via email at segreteria.napoli@progettoitaca.org

The article is very interesting and makes you understand how important the work of Progetto Itaca Napoli is. But I don't understand why there are more and more similar events, maybe there are too many problems related to mental distress? I hope the concert goes well.
