Acerra – Two people, a 67 year old woman resident in Acerra and a 33-year-old man of Albanian origin, were arrested last night by the State Police on charges of aggravated assault and resisting a public official.
The incident occurred during a targeted check carried out by officers from the Acerra Police Station and the Flying Squad at a building in the municipality. While the officers were carrying out the checks, the two individuals approached, starting to insult and threaten the officers with increasingly hostile attitudes.
The situation degenerated into a physical assault, with the clear intent of obstructing police activity.
Despite the officers' attempts to restore calm, the two men put up a strenuous resistance, which culminated in a fight. With difficulty, the police officers managed to immobilize them and proceed with the arrest.
The two suspects are now at the disposal of the judicial authorities for the contested charges.
