There is a manhunt in Milan, where a 35-year-old Neapolitan - already definitively convicted of femicide - is wanted for stabbing a 51-year-old colleague in front of the Berna Hotel, in via Napo Torriani, near the Central Station.
The alleged attacker, who worked at the facility's reception, was out of Bollate prison on a daytime work permit, but yesterday afternoon he did not show up for work and violated the obligation to return to his cell.
Shortly after, the man – according to initial reconstructions – seriously injured his colleague, an Italian bartender of Egyptian origins, now hospitalized with a reserved prognosis at the Niguarda hospital.
The 35-year-old was arrested in Germany in 2018 after being on the run following the murder of a young Tunisian prostitute, whose throat was cut in a hotel in Castel Volturno in 2016. Since then, he had been serving his sentence in a Milanese prison. Law enforcement is now busy searching for the fugitive.
