The man, already known to the police for specific precedents, was identified and arrested by the agents of the Montecalvario Police Station after a rapid and effective investigation.
The dynamics of the robbery
The episode dates back to a few days ago, when the robber allegedly approached a passerby on Via Toledo and then forcefully pushed the victim against a shutter. At that point he allegedly stole the money the victim had with him and quickly disappeared.
The officers, after having collected the suspect's description and analyzed the images from the surveillance cameras, tracked down the man in via Concezione in Montecalvario. At the sight of the officers, the 51-year-old attempted to flee, but was stopped after a short chase.
Yesterday, the Judicial Authority validated the arrest, ordering the pre-trial detention in prison for the 51-year-old, considered socially dangerous.
