Naples – A drama played out between the streets of Volla and Ponticelli, in the eastern suburbs of Naples, involving two women linked by an alleged romantic relationship. Ilaria Capezzuto, 34, allegedly shot her partner Daniela Strazzullo, 31, hitting her in the head while they were in the car, and then took her own life a few minutes later.
According to the investigators' first reconstruction, the two had met in via Don Luigi Sturzo in Volla. Strazzullo, daughter of a well-known member of organised crime in the western area of Napoli, was driving her car when she was allegedly hit by a gunshot fired by Capezzuto, who was sitting next to her or in any case next to the car.
Immediately afterward, the attacker walked away to via Pinocchio, a side street of Ponticelli a few hundred meters away, where she committed suicide with a shot to the head. The gun she used was found next to her body.
The victim of the attempted murder is now hospitalized in very serious conditions at the Ospedale del Mare. The Carabinieri of the Torre del Greco Company, who are conducting the investigation, currently exclude the involvement of the Camorra: the most accredited lead is that of a motive of passion. The dynamics will be confirmed by ballistic tests and images from video surveillance cameras in the area.
