Caserta – From next June 1st, visitors to the Royal Palace of Caserta will be able to discover a new space inside the Royal Park: it is the former Casa di Guardia di Ercole, which will be open to the public and will host a new sales point of Le Serre di Graefer, dedicated to historic plants and botanical products.
The structure, located at the beginning of the suggestive Via d'Acqua, is a small eighteenth-century farmhouse originally intended for the control and surveillance of the gardens of the Bourbon Court. Over time, the building has been adapted to various uses, including housing the security personnel of the Royal Palace during the last century.
Today, the former guardhouse is transformed into a new green corner thanks to the intervention of Le Serre di Graefer, already active in the English Garden of the Vanvitellian complex. A stone's throw from the Fontana Margherita, it will be possible to purchase historical cultivated plants, botanical souvenirs and gadgets of the Museum, offering visitors a preview of the complete experience that awaits them inside the Serre.
With this initiative, the Royal Palace of Caserta continues its path of valorization of the minor historical spaces of the Bourbon complex, restoring functionality and accessibility to places that are often little known but of great identity and cultural value.
