Salerno – A tragedy still shrouded in mystery shook the city at first light. A 42-year-old man, who had been reported missing the day before, was found lifeless on a piece of land near the bed of the Rumaccio stream, in via Paradiso di Pastena, the road that connects Torrione Alto to the Tangenziale junction. The tragic discovery was made by the owner of an adjacent farm, who immediately alerted the police.
The firefighters and the Carabinieri intervened on the spot, engaged in surveys and investigations to shed light on what happened. According to initial information, the man suffered from some pathologies and the family had already filed a missing person report at the Police Headquarters yesterday. The hypothesis of an accident has not been excluded, as well as that of a voluntary act or an even more obscure event: at the moment, all avenues remain open.
The body was transferred to the morgue of the “Ruggi d'Aragona” hospital, where the coroner, on behalf of the Prosecutor's Office, will perform the autopsy to clarify the causes of death and provide answers to the many questions still open. In the meantime, Salerno he wakes up with the weight of a tragedy that leaves dismay and disquiet in a usually quiet area.
