Naples – A major operation by the State Police is currently involving 45 people in various locations in the province of Naples and other Italian provinces.

The investigation, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA) of Naples, is aimed at dismantling an organization dedicated to migrant trafficking, accused of aiding illegal immigration, labor exploitation and document falsification.
The details of the operation
The precautionary measures – including house arrest, residence bans and searches – were carried out by the specialized units of the Flying Squad and the Central Immigration Service, with the support of the territorial units. The investigation, which began months ago, has reconstructed a criminal system that managed the entry and subsequent exploitation of non-EU citizens, often in conditions of serious vulnerability.
The main accusations
Facilitating illegal immigration: the organization allegedly facilitated the arrival of migrants by sea and land, guaranteeing them false residence permits.
Gangmastering and labour exploitation: the migrants they were directed towards agricultural and construction activities in Campania and other regions, with paltry wages and inhumane conditions.
Document forgery: Parallel networks produced and distributed counterfeit residence permits, which were also useful for illegal access to public services.

The operation hits a crucial supply chain in the illegal immigration business, often managed in connection with organized criminal groups.
The investigation could have further developments, with possible international connections. In the meantime, the State Police is carrying out further checks to identify other accomplices and reconstruct the illicit financial flows.
