Naples - Tragedy narrowly avoided last night in the gardens of Piazza Cavour near the Metro station.
A large tree fell just as some people were passing by. Only the quick reflexes of a citizen, who noticed the danger and the imminent collapse, avoided the worst by warning those who were passing by.
For months, the volunteer associations of the Sanità district have been reporting to the Municipality and to the Councilor for Greenery of the city of Naples, the situation in which the gardens and trees are in Piazza Cavour and via Foria. But until yesterday evening there was no intervention.
The area where the tree fell was cordoned off only a few hours later and tree maintenance in the area is now expected to begin today.
On social media, many people, including those who posted videos and photos of the fallen tree, have strongly criticized the municipal administration's inertia.
And to think that this is not the first time that something like this has happened in Piazza Cavour: two years ago a tree fell, destroying two cars.
