Naples – The two-week search for the disappearance of Giuseppe “Peppe” Autrù, 60, resident of the Ponticelli neighborhood, ended in the worst possible way.
The man was found lifeless with a knife stuck in his chest in the gardens of via Palermo a few steps from the Circum station of via Madonnelle. The forensic police were on site and carried out surveys to find traces useful for the investigation.
And in the meantime, the images from the cameras in the area were viewed. Peppe Autrù had left his home on Saturday 17 May around 13:30 pm, heading on foot towards the Circumvesuviana station “Madonnelle”, and since then his tracks have been completely lost. He had neither documents nor a cell phone with him, making the search even more complicated.
The case had quickly gone beyond the boundaries of the neighborhood and the city, landing on the broadcast “Who has seen?” and going viral on social media, where friends, relatives and citizens had incessantly shared appeals and updates.
And now, after two weeks, the tragic epilogue of the searches. The investigators do not exclude that Giuseppe Autrù was killed during a fight with some foreign homeless person who frequents the station on via Madonelle.
