The Pescara Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the death of a 30-year-old man, RZ, who died in hospital after feeling unwell inside the police station's holding cells.
The young man had been arrested late yesterday morning by the police and, according to what was reported in an official note from the Police Headquarters, he was hit with a taser after resisting officers during an intervention related to an altercation on the street.
The incident occurred around 11:118. After being arrested, the man was transferred to the police station for the usual procedures, but shortly afterward he began to feel seriously ill. The XNUMX paramedics arrived on the scene and stabilized him and rushed him to the hospital. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, there was nothing that could be done for him.
The investigations are entrusted to the Pescara Flying Squad and coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office, which has started investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident, including the methods of use of the taser and the possible correlation between the electric shock and the death.
Among the first provisions expected is the autopsy, which could prove decisive in determining the exact causes of death and shedding full light on the dynamics of the facts.
